PositionForeman – 1 position
Job OverviewThe Foreman supervises and works alongside a crew of employees and subcontractors to efficiently manage assigned projects or operations. This position has direct responsibility for personnel, equipment, planning and scheduling, safety, quality workmanship, and project completion in a timely manner and within estimated budget while maintaining absolute confidentiality.
Responsibilities- Ensure new personnel receive proper orientation to company policies, safety requirements, and job responsibilities.
- Assist and direct crews in proper use of equipment, improving job performance, controlling cost and quality, increasing productivity, improving communication, and maintaining housekeeping on the project.
- Perform equipment inspections; request maintenance and repairs as needed.
- Monitor drivers and maintain regular work hours; maintain daily payroll records and log hours worked for each employee assigned to you.
- Maintain a daily diary recording conversations, weather conditions, and events for future reference.
- Complete all required daily reports, verify their accuracy, and transmit promptly to the superintendent.
- Ensure all work complies with local laws, ordinances, and EPA regulations, including work of all subcontractors.
- Emphasize safety; insist upon compliance with all safety regulations; conduct weekly toolbox meetings with safety on the agenda.
- Maintain positive relations with the general public, engineers, architects, inspectors, and customers to facilitate job progress.
- Encourage corporate unity, fostering team spirit and pride throughout the company.
- Perform additional duties as required in the operations of the plant or as directed by the Superintendent and/or Project Manager.
- Travel may be required.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Must be a minimum of 21 years old.
- 5 years related experience in storm drain and water/sewer projects.
- Experience with DOT projects is a plus.
- Ability to communicate problems based on the varied variables of the project.
- Ability to provide a crew is also a plus.
- Prioritizes and handles multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Must be able to manage any project assigned.
- Current / Valid North Carolina Driver's License
- Suitable Motor Vehicle Driving Record (MVR) as described in the Corporate Safety & Health Manual
Moderate physical effort required; lifting or moving average weight material (typically over 25 pounds) or occasional lifting or moving heavy weight materials (over 60 pounds).
Physical ActivityPosition requires the ability to work around noise, dust, and heavy equipment; exchange ideas quickly and clearly; and receive and evaluate detailed information.
