Lead Parks Maintenance Specialist – Job Overview

As a Lead Parks Maintenance Specialist, you’ll organize, guide, and work alongside the crew to maintain and enhance Wilsonville’s parks and nature spaces. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and coordinating daily work activities for assigned crews
- Planning, scheduling, and prioritizing maintenance and improvement projects
- Training staff in safe and effective work practices
- Maintaining park grounds, sport fields, irrigation systems, and landscape features
- Operating and maintaining a variety of tools, vehicles, and equipment
- Ensuring high-quality, safe, and efficient work is completed on time
- Responding to community questions and supporting positive public interactions

Under the direct supervision of the Parks Supervisor, leads and performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled work in the coordination, preparation, repair, and maintenance of park grounds and sport/activity fields; installation, maintenance, and repair of sprinkler irrigation systems; and the construction of special landscaping or public use areas. The Lead Parks Maintenance Specialist is the lead worker responsible for organizing and overseeing the work activities of one or more crews.
Receives general supervision from assigned supervisory or management personnel. Exercises technical and functional direction over and provides training to lower-level classifications.
This is the advanced journey-level in the Parks Maintenance series that performs the most complex duties required to ensure that City infrastructure, systems, and parks facilities to which assigned are maintained in a safe and effective working condition and provide the highest level of safety for public use. Responsibilities include performing a wide variety of tasks in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of assigned parks facilities and systems in a timely manner.
