Position Summary: This role supports day‑to‑day facility upkeep across a large, multi‑building advanced manufacturing and engineering campus located in Wilton, CT. The environment includes precision‑driven R&D labs, office areas, production support spaces, and controlled environments, requiring a strong focus on cleanliness, safety, and attention to detail. The Handyperson performs light repairs, painting, preventive rounds, and minor maintenance tasks that help ensure work spaces remain safe, functional, and presentable.

- General Facility Maintenance:
Conduct preventive rounds across assigned facilities to identify and resolve minor issues (e.g., loose hardware, scuffed walls, stained ceiling tiles, trip hazards). - Painting:
Perform painting work including patching, prepping, priming, and finishing in office, lab‑adjacent, and common areas, ensuring clean lines and protection of surrounding surfaces. - Repair and replace door hardware (closers, stops, handles, kick plates, hinges, weatherstripping) and make routing adjustments for proper operation.
- Replace lamps, bulbs, lens covers, and simple fixtures within non‑licensed scope; escalate circuitry or electrical troubleshooting to licensed technicians.
- Complete minor electrical tasks allowed in a non‑licensed capacity (e.g., outlet/switch plate swaps, cord caps, battery replacements), escalating issues as needed.
- Troubleshoot and correct minor plumbing issues such as P traps, aerators, supply lines, flush valves, and clogs using non‑chemical methods; escalate complex or licensed work.
- Replace ceiling tiles, corner guards, baseboards, wall protection, and similar building components.
- Assemble, adjust, and repair office furniture, shelving, whiteboards, and workstation accessories while maintaining hardware inventory.
- Support floor‑care touch‑ups (spot cleaning, small finish repairs) and coordinate with janitorial services for larger needs.
- Maintain organized storage/maintenance closets and monitor consumables for replenishment.
- Follow all site EHS and facility safety procedures including PPE use, hazard communication, ladder safety, and basic LOTO awareness.
- Maintain clean, hazard‑free work areas, especially near sensitive equipment, lab‑adjacent zones, and high‑traffic corridors.
- Create, update, and close work orders in the CMMS with accurate notes, parts used, and before/after photos when applicable.
- Coordinate access, signage, and temporary barriers to minimize disruption during active work.
- Escort or support vendors and technicians as needed; communicate work status to requestors and the Facility Supervisor.
- Support event setups, room resets, seasonal tasks, and special service requests as needed.
- Follow required entry procedures for controlled or restricted areas, including gowning, tool control, and escalation when specialized certifications are required.
- Provide clear, professional, and courteous updates to building occupants and internal stakeholders.
- Prioritize work orders based on urgency, business impact, and facility needs within a high‑tech, engineering‑focused environment.
- Collaborate with electricians, HVAC technicians, and other trades on multi‑discipline tasks.
