Facilities Maintenance & Systems Specialist

We are seeking a Facilities Maintenance & Systems Specialist to support the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of building systems at a large commercial/industrial facility in Wilton, CT.

This position combines facility operations, Building Management System (BMS) monitoring, CMMS/work-order management, preventive maintenance coordination, and building controls support
. The specialist will monitor critical building systems, respond to alarms and priority work orders, coordinate maintenance activities, and communicate equipment status to technicians, facility leadership, vendors, and site personnel.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of facilities, industrial, or manufacturing experience with exposure to BMS/building controls, CMMS platforms, mechanical and electrical systems, troubleshooting, and equipment commissioning
.

• Monitor the facility's Building Management System (BMS) and identify, acknowledge, investigate, dispatch, and elevate building alarms.
• Coordinate with technicians and facility personnel to ensure alarms and equipment issues are addressed before they impact operations.
• Monitor the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and ensure high-priority work orders receive timely response, troubleshooting, updates, and escalation.
• Schedule and coordinate preventive maintenance and reactive work orders for facility technicians.
• Maintain accurate work-order status and communicate critical maintenance activities through the appropriate systems and communication channels.
• Monitor building operations and critical utilities to help maintain optimal equipment and facility performance.
• Perform building audits, identify maintenance needs, and generate work orders within the CMMS.
• Support equipment start-up, system tuning, calibration, troubleshooting, and commissioning of BMS/building control systems

• Assist with fine-tuning building systems as programs, controls, and sequences of operation are developed or modified.
• Maintain working knowledge of critical building utilities and their impact on facility operations.
• Assist with Corrective Action and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities related to equipment failures or operational issues.
• Complete shift turnover documentation detailing open and completed work, critical equipment status, downtime events, parts used, and outstanding issues.
• Communicate regularly with facility leadership, technicians, building occupants, and vendors regarding maintenance status and service needs.
• Support customer and internal reporting through CMMS data, spreadsheets, presentations, and other reporting tools.
• Perform additional facility operations and maintenance responsibilities as needed.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical, trade, or college education preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in facilities maintenance, industrial, manufacturing, or a similar technical environment.
• Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS), building automation, or controls

• Experience with system commissioning, calibration, controls operation, and/or software integration preferred.
• Experience working with a CMMS required;
  Planon experience is a plus

• Understanding of mechanical and electrical building systems and facility operations.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, diagrams, and technical documentation
  .
• Familiarity with commissioning tools and field circuit troubleshooting/debugging.
