Role PurposeThe Janitorial Agent is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and safety throughout airport facilities, including terminals, restrooms, gate areas, offices, and public spaces. This role ensures a clean and welcoming environment for passengers, airport staff, and visitors while adhering to airport safety, security, and sanitation standards.
Responsibilities- Clean and sanitize airport terminal areas, including restrooms, seating areas, gates, hallways, and public spaces
- Empty trash receptacles and replace liners throughout assigned areas
- Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors to maintain cleanliness standards
- Replenish restroom supplies such as soap, paper towels, and tissue
- Clean spills and respond promptly to cleanliness or safety hazards
- Maintain cleanliness of high‑touch surfaces such as handrails, counters, and door handles
- Follow proper procedures for handling cleaning chemicals and equipment
- Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or facility concerns to supervisors
- Support deep cleaning tasks as scheduled or assigned
- Follow all airport safety, security, and company policies
- Assist with cleaning support during high‑traffic periods or special events
- Maintain professionalism while working in passenger‑facing environments
- Perform other duties as requested
You will have a responsibility and duty whilst at work to take reasonable care of the health, safety and wellbeing of yourself and others in accordance with provided information, training, and workplace health and safety rules or procedures. - High school diploma or GED
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced and physically demanding environment
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Must have reliable telephone and transportation
- Exposure to high‑traffic areas and frequent passenger interaction
- Fast‑paced environment requiring continuous cleaning and upkeep
- May include indoor and occasional outdoor assignments
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods
- Ability to perform repetitive cleaning tasks throughout the shift
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions and high‑traffic areas
- Must be able to take verbally directed instructions in English
- Must be able to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English
- Must pass pre‑employment and random drug tests
- Must pass a pre‑employment background check
- Must meet necessary requirements to obtain a security sensitive identification badge
- Must be in proper uniform or business attire as directed by company officials
- Identification badges must always be visible
- Adhere to company policies and procedures and participate in achievement of company objectives
