RoleOperations Maintenance Coordinator (Winnemucca, NV) reporting to the Lithium Carbonate Plant Manager. Bridges gaps between operations and maintenance, ensuring smooth workflow, conflict prevention, and resource optimization. Occasional travel to other LAC offices, project sites, or vendor locations may be required.
Key Responsibilities- Primary communication link between operations, maintenance, engineering, and contractors.
- Create, prioritize, and manage work orders for reactive and proactive maintenance requests.
- Coordinate with the maintenance scheduler to prioritize and schedule activities aligning with operational needs and equipment availability.
- Keep operations informed and ensure permitting and planning are in place before work.
- Develop and implement lock‑out tag‑out plans for maintenance activities.
- Facilitate pre‑job safety meetings and verify completion of required permits (LOTO, confined space, hot work, etc.).
- Support root cause analysis (RCA) investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate with Contractor Coordinator to schedule contractor activities, minimizing operational impacts.
- Identify trends, recommend improvements to reduce downtime and extend asset life.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, cost control, and operational efficiency.
- Plan and coordinate planned outages, shutdowns, and turnarounds.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA, environmental regulations, and company policies.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships across all teams while championing company Purpose, Vision, and Values.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 5+ years of experience in mining, chemical processing, or industrial manufacturing environment.
- Strong organization, planning, and prioritization skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Analytical skills for data review and process improvement.
- Experience with ERP (SAP) systems and maintenance planning tools.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
