The Winnetka Public Schools are seeking motivated high school or college students to work within the Adventures in Learning Program. This opportunity is ideal for students looking to gain experience in an educational setting, develop leadership skills, and contribute to the success of younger students. Staff will be crucial in assisting staff and creating a positive learning environment.
Responsibilities- Assist teachers and staff with classroom activities and instructional support.
- Help prepare and organize materials for lessons and activities.
- Provide guidance and supervision to younger students during class, transitions, and recreational periods.
- Encourage and foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as taking attendance or setting up learning stations.
- Support students individually or in small groups under the direction/supervision of teaching staff.
- At least 17 by June 17, 2026
- Interest in working with younger students or exploring a career in education.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to the full duration of the summer school program.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Willingness to undergo a background check, as required for all volunteers.
- Complete and submit the online application by March 13, 2026
- Attend a brief orientation session prior to the start of the program.
- Successfully pass a background check to ensure the safety and well-being of all students and staff.
- Gain valuable experience for college applications or resumes.
- Develop leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Make a meaningful impact on younger students' learning and confidence.
