Hubbard Woods Elementary School in Winnetka, Illinois has an opening for a full-time General Music Teacher for the School Year.
Qualifications- Holds an Illinois Professional Educator's License (PEL) with a K-12 Music Endorsement.
- Has a high energy level, as well as possesses a keen understanding of elementary education best practices, child development principles, and a strong desire and commitment to work with elementary level children.
- Is able to articulate the needs of the elementary school child (physical, emotional, intellectual).
- Possesses strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Works cooperatively with colleagues and communicates effectively with them.
- Has expertise in current best practices in teaching music.
- Is able to sustain and conduct elementary choral group.
- Candidate who plays the piano and has a background in singing – preferred.
Moderate degree of physical stamina with occasional lifting of 10 to 15 pounds and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds required in the physical assistance of students with special needs. Ability to move freely to various locations within the classroom, office and other business and community settings. Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and bending. Frequent repetitive activities including hands, arms, and legs for clerical related work.
Exposure to noise and activity of a school setting. Exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
