Pay
: $15-$17, this is a non-exempt, seasonal position
Turn your passion for skating into leadership on the ice!
Are you an experienced skater who enjoys helping others learn and grow? The Winnetka Park District is looking for enthusiastic and motivated Junior Ice Instructors to assist with our skating programs and help create a positive, fun, and supportive experience for skaters of all ages.
Qualifications
:
Seeking an individual with proficient skating experience. Must have strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Must be at least 16 years of age or if 15, must obtain a work permit.
Duties
:
Working alongside our experienced skating instructors and under the direct supervision of the Skating Director, you'll gain valuable teaching and leadership experience while sharing your love of skating and serving as a positive role model for young skaters.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with group skating lessons following the Learn to Skate USA curriculum and standards.
- Supporting instructors with lesson activities and on-ice supervision.
- Encouraging skaters as they develop skills and confidence.
- Helping create a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable learning environment.
- Participating in skating school events, ice shows, and special programs.
Work Hours
:
Classes are generally held from September through July, with additional opportunities to assist during our August summer skating camp based on program needs and instructor availability.

Jr. Skating Instructor
The Winnetka Park District is one of five units of local government in Winnetka. Our properties cover nearly five square miles and include 26 parks, five beaches, a boat launch, two golf courses, a tennis center, an ice arena, platform tennis courts, and athletic fields.
