North Shore Country Day School, a JK-12 independent school near Chicago, seeks candidates for teacher positions in our Lower School Later Raiders Program (after school care) for the  Academic Year. Preferred candidate to work Monday – Friday from 2:45 p.m. to 6:00pm., though the program is flexible in regards to scheduling.

Qualifications:

• Monitor and provide caring and thoughtful support to students during free and structured play, both indoors and out.
• Monitor daily student attendance.
• Set up and clean classroom on a daily basis.
• Plan, prepare and implement activities for children.
• Perform duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Associates degree or equivalent work experience required. (Bachelor's degree or current pursuit of such degree preferred.)
• Possess a minimum of 1-2 years prior experience working with elementary age children (4-11 years old).
• Ability to communicate and interact well with preschool and elementary age students, as well as faculty, staff, administrators, and parents.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Punctuality, dependability and patience.
• Successful completion of a background test.

Compensation:

• $60 a day; this position is not eligible for benefits.
