Lower School Music Teacher

North Shore Country Day, a progressive, academically rigorous, co-ed, JK‐12 independent school near Chicago, seeks candidates for a lower school music teacher for an early to mid October leave through December 18th, 2026. The incoming teacher would teach grades kindergarten through fifth grade, utilizing the lessons and curriculum provided by the current music teacher on leave. Experience as a previous music educator, as well as knowledge of the Lower School developmental ages, are top priorities in this search.

Additionally, this short-term leave will be responsible for planning a one-hour Lower School Holiday performance in December. While a bachelor's degree is required, a master's degree in education is preferred. Candidates should have three or more years of teaching experience. Additionally, we seek candidates with an interest in working in a highly collaborative team environment and who demonstrate keen insight into the development of their students as individuals and learners.
