Assists various departments and entities with building projects, repairs, and maintenance functions. Performs landscaping, grounds maintenance, and brushing assignments. Responds to emergency situations that include severe weather warnings, flooding, etc.
RESPONSIBILITIESA. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Light construction, maintenance and repair of buildings: including roofing, painting, insulation, and other maintenance.
- Repair picnic tables, playground equipment, grills, parking barriers, signs, pumps, and other equipment.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from high school, or its equivalent, supplemented by verifiable work in a related field for at least three (3) years is required. Mechanical background preferred. Knowledge of basic office procedures and safety procedures required. Valid Wisconsin Driver’s license is required. Basic, everyday living skills are needed, as is the ability to understand and follow oral and written directions, as well as give instructions.
Reading, writing, adding, and subtracting is needed to complete forms, read manuals, and make calculations when working on projects.
During employment with Wood County, certifications in first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and Hazardous Materials Awareness Level are required and maintained.
