Summary

Truck and Trailer Mechanic position located in Edgerton, WI. The role performs preventative and light maintenance on semis and trailers.

Schedule:

Monday‑Friday 8am‑5pm, with potential Saturday work as needed.

Compensation

Eligible for a $3,000 sign‑on bonus ($1,500 after 30 days and $1,500 after one year). Base wage plus potential bonuses, incentives and commissions. Details vary with experience, education and other factors.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, repair and maintain vehicles, machinery and equipment to minimize unscheduled downtime and improve availability and reliability.
  • Schedule and perform preventive maintenance to support operating departments with safe, reliable vehicles and equipment in compliance with regulatory agencies and within industry cost standards.
  • Provide assistance to junior team members.
  • Maintain accurate record keeping and documentation.
  • Maintain efficient maintenance procedures and monitor spare parts and equipment inventory.
  • Maintain tools and keep work areas clean and neat.
  • Follow all CHS policies and procedures and participate in training for service and repair of vehicles, equipment, and facilities.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and follow safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate hazards and correct unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Perform other responsibilities as needed.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
  • 2+ years of experience in truck and trailer maintenance.
Additional Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Vocational/technical school training in production maintenance or mechanics preferred.
  • Significant experience in industrial maintenance.
  • Broad knowledge of equipment and machinery operations, control, and functions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work additional hours as needed.
  • Pre‑employment screening required; may include drug, criminal, motor vehicle check, physical assessment and FMSCA clearinghouse as applicable.
