Breakdown Mechanic

Job Purpose

On the basis of activities assigned by his or her superiors, the breakdown mechanic carries out mobile repairs and maintenance work on equipment and installations.

Significant Activities

• Perform routine diagnostics
• Draw up lists of parts needed to complete the work
• Prepare work (parts, consumables, tools, etc.)
• Recommend refurbishment solutions to customers (replacement, repair, etc.) and pass on information to internal stakeholders in order to draw up a quotation if necessary
• Perform a risk analysis prior to intervention
• Carry out simple preventive and corrective maintenance work on equipment (overhauls, repairs, etc.) based on maintenance plans and operating procedures
• Ensure that equipment is in good working order after intervention
• Understand and use technical documentation (manuals, etc.)
• Determine the qualification of repair orders (billable, warranty, contract, etc.)
• Occasionally provide back-up on another perimeter (geographical, sector, activity, etc.)
• Indicate opportunities for additional interventions in the business tool
• Complete the various business documents and tools relating to operations (reports, etc.) hours worked, logbooks, etc.)
• Report daily on activities to line management (alerts, tasks carried out, etc.)

Responsibilities and Scope for Action

• Ensure the quality and timeliness of roaming operations
• Ensure compliance of workstations and tools (vehicle, tools, etc.)
• Know and strictly apply health and safety rules (personal protective equipment, procedures, working alone, etc.)
• Know and strictly apply the rules of the customer's risk prevention plan
• Know and strictly apply environmental rules (sorting, anti-contamination, etc.)
• Know and apply internal and external compliance procedures and rules
• Perform on-call duties as required

Professional Knowledge

Vocational baccalaureate to Bac +2 in maintenance, mechanics or electrical engineering and/or significant experience desirable

Specific Knowledge

• Technical skill(s) - Knowledge professional in the field technical (mechanical, electrical electrical engineering, hydraulics, etc.)
