Job Purpose
The Custodian is responsible for ensuring the common areas and employee spaces remain clean, safe, and well-maintained while supporting our AAA Four-Diamond service standards. They do this by executing a variety of maintenance and cleaning tasks and by assisting departments such as housekeeping and maintenance when needed.
- Full-time or part-time positions available.
- General cleaning and maintaining of public areas, restrooms, offices, meeting spaces, and back-of-house areas
- Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, and sanitize surfaces
- Restock restrooms and cleaning supplies
- Ensure doors are locked after hours
- Clean spills and stains with appropriate equipment
- Operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently
- Perform minor repairs when needed
- Promptly notify supervisors or managers of major repairs
- Collect and dispose of trash/recycling from all departments
- Assist other departments with projects as needed
- Collect and disperse packages to appropriate departments
- Complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision
- Work with a contract cleaning service when necessary
- Follow all safety procedures and resort cleanliness standards
- All other duties as assigned
- Education:
High School Diploma - Previous custodial/janitorial experience is helpful but not required—we are happy to train the right candidate
- Strong customer/ guest service skills.
- Handle basic maintenance, building repairs, cleaning, and other janitorial work
- Must be a team player but also be able to work independently
- Dependable with a positive attitude
- Able to work safely with a variety of cleaning supplies and equipment
- Ability to learn quickly and accurately with attention to detail
- Must be available to work some weekends and holidays
- Ability to be on your feet for up to 8 hours each day—also be able to use stairs, reach, bend, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to exhibit a cheerful and professional demeanor towards guests and other team members
