Lutheran Social Services of WI & UP MI seeks a Residential Maintenance Technician to support safe, comfortable housing for clients in our residential programs. In this field-based role, you'll perform routine and emergency maintenance, including basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and room turns across multiple sites. You will conduct inspections, complete work orders, maintain tools and supplies, and coordinate with vendors while following safety, licensing, and building codes.
Working within a faith-inspired, trauma-informed, and inclusive culture, you'll collaborate closely with care staff to minimize disruption to residents and ensure high-quality, mission-driven facility care.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance for residential care facilities, including basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry repairs
- Conduct regular inspections of buildings, resident rooms, and common areas to ensure safety, cleanliness, and regulatory compliance
- Complete work orders promptly, document repairs, and communicate status updates to supervisors and program staff
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and preventative maintenance services
- Maintain tools, equipment, and inventory of maintenance supplies; follow safety and OSHA guidelines
- Assist with room turns, moves, and minor renovations to support resident transitions and program needs
- Respond to after-hours maintenance emergencies on a rotating or assigned basis
- Collaborate with care staff to minimize disruption to residents and provide respectful service
- Support implementation of preventative maintenance schedules for building systems and equipment
- Follow agency policies, state codes, and licensing requirements related to residential facilities
