Building Technician

Lutheran Social Services of WI & UP MI seeks a Full Time Building Technician to support safe, functional, and welcoming environments across our healthcare and social service programs. In this on-site role, you will perform routine and preventive maintenance, basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and minor repairs, ensuring buildings meet safety and code standards. You'll respond to work orders, assist with room setups and seasonal tasks, and help maintain trauma-informed, client-centered spaces.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine building maintenance, repairs, and inspections across LSS facilities
• Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical, plumbing, and HVAC issues
• Complete work orders in a timely, safe, and code-compliant manner
• Monitor building systems and report issues needing outside vendors
• Support room setups, moves, and basic furniture/equipment assembly
• Maintain clean, safe, trauma-informed spaces for clients and staff
• Follow safety, infection control, and regulatory requirements
• Assist with snow removal, grounds care, and seasonal upkeep
• Coordinate with program staff to minimize disruption to services
• Document work performed and maintain maintenance records
