Position Overview

Fives Landis Corp is actively searching for a Field Service Technician to join its team. Fives is driven by a common calling to prove that industry can do it, working daily to address major technological, environmental, social and economic challenges.

Fives Landis Corp is the High Precision Machines Division of Fives, which designs and supplies machines for various markets including Automotive, Aerospace, Defense, Rail, Shipbuilding, Energy, and Space. The division employs approximately 1,800 people worldwide across about 20 locations in Asia, Europe, and North America.

Applicants do not need to be based at our Hagerstown, Maryland headquarters. Candidates from MD, VA, WV, PA, KY, NY, IL, IN, OH, and MI are encouraged to apply.

$28 – $38 per hour (rate commensurate with experience)

• Set up, integrate, and thoroughly test equipment and systems at client locations to ensure optimal functionality and reliability.
• Demonstrate equipment performance and capabilities to customers, confirming proper operation and satisfaction with system standards.
• Provide rapid support for critical equipment failures to minimize downtime.
• Perform emergency repairs by diagnosing technical issues and implementing effective and timely solutions.
• Educate and assist clients on proper equipment operation, maximizing efficiency and user confidence.
• Communicate clearly and proactively with customers and internal teams to provide timely service updates and maintain alignment.
• Serve as the primary technical liaison, managing customer interactions and ensuring prompt and accurate resolution of issues.
• Submit detailed service reports, including parts used, time spent, and corrective actions taken.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of field service experience with precision cylindrical grinding. Knowledge of centerless and double disc grinding is a plus. Understanding of CNC machines with servo drives & motors and programmable logic controls such as Allen Bradley, Fanuc, and Siemens is required. Candidates must be self‑starting, flexible, and willing to travel 75% of the time.
