Overview
As a certified Safelite Repair Specialist I, you will use industry‑leading technology to complete vehicle glass repairs. You will champion the Safelite Spirit with a can‑do attitude, caring heart, and service mindset while delivering high‑quality service to customers.
Responsibilities- Learn to repair vehicle glass (in classroom and hands‑on) with a focus on the Safelite Way of Fitting under the guidance of experienced technicians and leaders.
- Repair chips, cracks and other auto glass related issues on customer vehicles.
- Manage work orders, customer documentation, and customer communication through the Safelite handheld Mobile Resource Management (MRM) technology.
- Promote and sell Safelite promotional items to customers.
- Clean customer vehicles during wait/idle time and perform housekeeping tasks in the company vehicle and shop.
- Safely operate company and customer vehicles, company‑issued tools, and chemicals used throughout the workday.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Comply with all company policies and standards.
- Note:
Driving duties will be monitored via cameras, GPS, and other tracking technologies to ensure safety and compliance.
- Competitive weekly base pay starting at $20.25.
- Paid training and all the tools and resources necessary for success.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent (preferred).
- Valid state‑issued driver’s license and any additional licenses required by federal, state, and local laws to operate a company vehicle.
- Completion of on‑the‑job training and Safelite Safe Tech™ certification.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs. for short periods and assist with windshield weights of 26 lbs. to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, bend, twist, and work in tight spaces for extended periods.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, chemicals (including flammable chemicals), and safety protocols.
- Capability to operate a motor vehicle safely under all applicable laws while being monitored via camera/video surveillance.
- Strong customer service orientation and professionalism.
- Flexibility to work scheduled days with adjustable start and end times to meet customer needs.
- Problem‑solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot independently and collaboratively.
- Reading, writing, and interpreting English language and technical directions.
- Effective communication skills, both orally (via phone) and in writing (via computer or other electronic means).
- Adherence to company uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE) policies.
- Ability to maintain stable performance under professional or personal pressure and/or opposition.
