The Central Massachusetts Collaborative (CMC) proudly provides educational, clinical, and therapeutic services to children from kindergarten through twelve. With over 180 full‑time employees, we serve more than 500 students in the Worcester County area.

ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE:
The Custodian/Maintenance Technician is an energetic and flexible employee who works with a high‑needs population of students ages 5 to 22. The role maintains the physical school facilities in a condition of operating excellence, cleanliness, and safety so that full educational use of the facilities may be made at all times.

• Keep CMC buildings neat and clean at all times.
• Clean bodily fluids as needed.
• Report and clean any graffiti found throughout the building.
• Clean drinking fountains daily.
• Vacuum, clean, and empty trash daily in front offices, reception, and single‑use bathrooms.
• Assist and maintain cleanliness of the cafeteria during lunch periods.
• Replenish soap and paper in all dispensers as needed.
• Wash glass doors and windows as needed.
• Empty outside trash bins and police the perimeter of the building for litter.
• Maintain clean hallways by removing staples, tape, and cleaning all scuff marks.
• Help set up and clean up after activities in the building.
• Disinfect the playscape at least quarterly.
• Clean all ceiling vents at least quarterly.
• Assume responsibility for opening and/or closing the building each day and ensuring building security through inspections and alarm checks.
• Report any condition of the facilities that is not safe or functioning as designed to the supervisor.
• Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
• Make plumbing repairs to sinks, toilets, faucets, etc.
• Perform minor electrical repairs.
• Make minor carpentry repairs, assemble furniture, shelving, etc.
• Repair custodial equipment such as vacuum cleaners and snow blowers.
• Patch and paint walls and other building components.
• Participate in snow and ice removal when needed.
• Assist with HVAC repairs and other maintenance tasks as needed.
• Perform other tasks assigned by the administrator.

• Able to work afternoons and evenings.
• Able to exercise universal precautions and tolerate management of body fluids if needed.
• Lift and carry objects and school equipment up to 75 pounds.
• High school diploma (additional related technical training is a plus).
• Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and professionally with all Collaborative staff, outside vendors, property management personnel, and the general public.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license.

• Full year, 260 days (183 pupil days, 77 non‑pupil days)
• 8.0 hours per day for pupil days, 7 hours per day for non‑pupil days

$28 – $32 per hour
