Building Automation Systems Specialist

Position Location: This role supports our Worthington, OH branch location, which serves customers throughout the greater Columbus, OH area.

Systems Specialists participate in the installation, startup, and commissioning of building automation system equipment, support verification of the system database and programming, and interact with customers to help them save energy and create a sustainable future.

• Commission new digital control systems on construction sites within planned timelines and document commissioning details.
• Plan work with Lead Technician and Team Leader.
• Assist with data backup from servers, create automated backup procedures, and troubleshoot inconsistencies in system functions.
• Support configuration of PC workstations and user interfaces.
• Confirm proper network performance.
• Operational testing and verification: run routine reports, participate in final inspection and testing, support customer acceptance, and assist with customer training on system operations.
• Complete and submit routine written reports, provide plans and control system documents for as‑built drawings.
• Support scheduling of trade contractors for startup services and submit accurate time and expense reports.
• Work overtime and on-call shifts as required, including minimal overnight travel.
• Adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures; work in a team environment providing dedicated support to customers.

• 1+ year of experience installing and servicing electronic control or HVAC equipment.
• Electro‑mechanical experience and user PC/software skill.
• On‑the‑job experience reading, understanding, and interpreting design and construction documents.
• Ability to work in various environments including ladders, scaffolds, high‑lift equipment, ducts, crawl spaces, roofs, basements, and above ceilings.
• Ability to use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet, and carry equipment weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.
• Must be 18 years of age, possess a valid driver’s license with limited violations, and be eligible for Siemens' fleet vehicle program.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without sponsorship.

• High school diploma or state‑recognized GED; associate or bachelor’s degree in electronics, mechanical engineering or related field.

$49,195 – $84,334 annually, depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and geographic location.
