This position assists in the repair and maintenance of the facilities, equipment and properties within the Guernsey unit of parks and historic sites that includes Guernsey State Park, Hawk Springs State Recreation Site, Oregon Trail Ruts State Historic Site and Register Cliff State Historic Site and to enhance the visitor experience by being involved in and providing professional customer service, diverse recreational opportunities and informative interpretive programming.

Essential Functions- Assess and perform maintenance needs for site grounds, facilities, water systems, and roads.
- Facility maintenance: maintain and repair buildings and historical structures, including carpentry, plumbing, minor electrical, painting, welding, road maintenance, fence repair, water system operation and janitorial duties.
- Ground maintenance: manage and control noxious weeds and vegetation. Maintain campgrounds, mow, trim and remove trash at historical sites and throughout the park.
- Administrative tasks: purchase materials and supplies. Manage inventory, including tracking needs, schedules and reports for all site equipment and vehicles.
- Customer service and support: provide assistance with reservations, fee collection, tours, events and programs. Answer visitor questions and provide excellent customer service. Provide information to visitors about programs, events and rules and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Preference may be given to applicants with trades skills in building and grounds, and vehicle operation and maintenance.
Knowledge- Knowledge of equipment operation such as tractors and mowers
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of power and manual tools
- Knowledge of hazmat laws and regulations; commercial pesticide application
- Knowledge of basic carpentry, construction, plumbing, welding, fabrication and electrical
- Skills in operating and maintaining light and heavy machinery
- Knowledge of shop tools to repair vehicles and equipment
- Excellent customer service skills
Education: High School Diploma
Experience: 0–2 years of progressive work experience (typically in parks maintenance)
Education & Experience Substitution: 1–3 years of progressive work experience (typically in parks maintenance)
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must possess a valid Driver's License
Physical Working Conditions- Work may be performed outdoors in all weather conditions.
