Job Description

To perform duties of operation, care, cleaning, maintenance, and security of the assigned facility and site. Provide a clean, comfortable, safe, and attractive environment to promote the mission of the Campbell County School District: "Teaching Effectively - Learning Successfully".

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Participate in a daily work schedule of building cleaning and operation.
• Vacuum all carpets daily in area of responsibility.
• Cleans, sanitizes, services, and restocks restrooms daily.
• Cleans and sanitizes drinking fountains daily.
• Wash windows and frames as directed.
• Cleans all chalkboards and trays daily.
• Dust or mop all resilient or tile floors daily.
• Empty waste and sanitary receptacles daily.
• Dust all dispensers daily.
• Keep all dispensers filled daily.
• Replace light bulbs as needed.
• Cleans furniture as directed.
• Operate physical plant equipment as needed.
• May require entry into confined space and use of respiratory equipment; a pulmonary function test must be passed.
• May be required to clean and inspect boiler system.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

• Perform snow removal when required and shovel coal if necessary.
• Perform weekend and holiday building checks and cleaning as directed.
• Provide assistance to building staff members on request.
• Work at other CCSD facilities on request.

Knowledge, Skills, and Mental Ability:
Previous commercial cleaning experience helpful.

Education, License, Certification, or Formal Training:
Reading ability adequate to follow directions and make effective work decisions.

• Occasional: 0-33% of the working day
• Frequent: 34-66% of the working day
• Constant: 67-100% of the working day

Moderate exposure to weather extremes of minus 40°F to positive 110°F.

Frequent exposure to coal, sawdust, insulation, abrasives, and common dust.

Frequent exposure to various supplies containing hazardous materials or chemicals.

Some employees may be occupationally exposed to blood borne pathogens and other potentially infectious materials based on task and procedures required.
