Dishwasher – Sublette County Hospital District

Title: Dishwasher

Summary

Description:

This key position is responsible for assisting in providing quality customer service to residents, patients, visitors, and staff for Sublette County Health dietary services. The areas of influence would include but are not limited to Main dining hall, Skilled Nursing dining hall, serveries, patient meals, and catering. Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen, kitchen equipment, dining areas and patient trays for Sublette County Health dietary services.

Reports directly to Cook.

Responsibilities
  • Cleans, sanitizes, and stores dishes and serving containers according to Sublette County Health Guidelines.
  • Cleans and disinfects assigned areas including dining areas using department cleaning procedures.
  • Uses cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
  • Performs weekly inventory of stock.
  • Assists with the unloading of deliveries and their proper storage ensuring appropriate rotation of products.
  • Assists server staff as needed.
  • Operates and maintains assigned equipment according to established procedures. Reports problems with equipment and facility in a timely manner through established communication procedures.
  • Handles and cleans up emergency spills per department guidelines and OSHA standards.
  • Identifies and reports any unsafe/unsanitary conditions to supervisor.
  • Communicates the mission, ethics, and goals of the hospital. Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices. Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner.
  • Demonstrates responsibility for knowing and adhering to all District and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Understands the importance of patient confidentiality and HIPAA rules and regulations.

  • Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of commercial food operations and cleaning.
  • Knowledge of food safety procedures preferred.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Knowledge of safety and sanitation.
    • Availability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the nutritional services department of Sublette County Health.
    • Must be able to read color coded labels of chemicals as well as follow verbal and written instructions.
    Working Conditions
    • Subject to varying situations including ability to understand and respond appropriately, effectively, and sensitively to special population groups, including those defined by race, ethnicity, language, age, sex, sexual orientation, economic standing, etc.
    • Frequent contact with a variety of people including prisoners and people with mental, emotional, and physical disabilities.
    • Medical office, exam room, laboratory, radiology, emergency room and professional practice settings. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases and other conditions common to rural clinic environments.
    • The work environment involves exposure to unusual elements, potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment.
    • May require travel between District sites.
    Physical Demands

    Varied activities include standing, walking, reaching, bending, and lifting. Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients. Also requires manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination. It requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carry items weighing up to fifty pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. This position frequently requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.

    Year‑round highway travel between clinics and other facilities throughout the district is required.
