Summary

Kemmerer Junior Senior High School is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented custodian to join our team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This role is essential in supporting the overall functionality of the school and ensuring that all facilities are well-kept and conducive to learning.

• Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and common areas.
• Ensure that all facilities are stocked with necessary supplies, such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
• Conduct routine inspections of school facilities and report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel.
• Set up and take down furniture and equipment for school events, meetings, and activities as needed.
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for all staff and students.
• Assist in the removal of trash and recycling from all areas of the school.
• Participate in special cleaning projects, such as deep cleaning during school breaks or after events.
• Maintain custodial equipment and supplies, ensuring they are in good working condition.
• Collaborate with other staff members to support the overall cleanliness and functionality of the school.
• Adhere to all school policies and procedures, including those related to health and safety.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in custodial or janitorial work is a plus but not required.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning products, equipment, and safety procedures.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
• Must pass a background check as required by school district policies.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if necessary.
