Custodian

Position: Custodian - 2nd Shift (2:30 PM - 11:00 PM)

Location: West Godwin Elementary, Godwin Heights Public Schools

Reports to: Facilities Director

A school custodian should be reliable, responsible, and detail-oriented, ensuring the school is clean, safe, and well-maintained. They should have a positive attitude, be friendly and respectful, especially when interacting with children and staff, and be able to work independently or as part of a team. Physical stamina, basic maintenance skills, and the ability to respond quickly to issues are also important.

• Custodial/Cleaning experience is desired.
• Must have transportation.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Driver's License.

$18.85 (Probation rate for the first 60 days)

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk, and hear (in a quiet or noisy environment). The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust/focus.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud to moderate. Work is performed indoors, although there will be required outdoor activities. The employee is directly responsible for the safety, well-being, and work output of students.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to compare, analyze, communicate both orally and in writing in the English language, copy, coordinate, instruct, compute, synthesize, evaluate, use interpersonal skills, and compile and negotiate.
