Rebuild Technician – Entry Level

Job Summary The Rebuild Technician performs a variety of manufacturing and mechanical functions, including the disassembly, inspection, repair, assembly, testing, and preparation of transmission components and assemblies. This position follows established quality, safety, and production standards to ensure the delivery of reliable, high-quality products while supporting operational efficiency, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction. Rebuild Technicians may work with automatic transmissions, manual transmissions, or related drivetrain components depending on business needs.

Who We Are Weller Truck Parts began its history in Muskegon, Michigan in 1928 when Harry Weller, a small body shop owner, found value in recycled parts for the auto industry. The small business thrived so much that in 1949, Harry moved Weller Truck Parts to nearby Grand Rapids, MI. Since that time, Weller Truck Parts has continued to grow under the direction of the Weller family.

In 2014, Weller became a member of the Jasper Holding family of companies and a 100% Associate Owned ESOP. Roles and Responsibilities Disassemble, inspect, diagnose, rebuild, repair, and reassemble transmissions and related components.

Perform quality inspections throughout the rebuild process to ensure products meet company and customer specifications.

Utilize work instructions, technical documentation, and company systems to complete assigned work.

Operate hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and production equipment safely and effectively.

Identify defective or worn components and determine repair or replacement requirements.
