• Sr. Maintenance Lead at a downstream growth-oriented energy company.
• The Sr. Maintenance Lead is responsible for supporting the safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of complex refinery maintenance activities. Working with minimal guidance from the Maintenance Supervisor, this individual serves as a critical technical resource, leads assigned projects, coordinates the work of employees and contractors, and provides coaching and mentoring to less experienced team members. The Sr. Maintenance Lead is expected to remain actively involved in fieldwork while helping the team troubleshoot problems, prioritize work, and meet refinery expectations for safety, quality, and productivity.
  
  This position includes both administrative and field-based responsibilities. The Sr. Maintenance Lead will routinely enter operating units, work alongside maintenance personnel, provide technical guidance and training, coordinate with other departments, and promptly elevate significant safety, equipment, staffing, or scheduling concerns to the Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager.
• When business needs require, this position may be formally assigned supervisory uplift responsibilities to provide temporary coverage and support for the Maintenance Supervisor. This is a safety-sensitive position within a 24-hour industrial refinery environment.

• Promote and model compliance with OSHA requirements, refinery safety rules, established procedures, and safe work practices.
• Participate in and assist with daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, pre-job planning, and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) reviews.
• Verify that Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, hot work, line breaking, and other applicable safe work procedures are understood and properly followed.
• Safely and proficiently use self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and supplied-air respirators (SAR) for supplied-air work and backup or rescue operations.
• Identify field hazards, take appropriate immediate action, and exercise stop-work authority when work cannot be performed safely.
• Conduct safety observations, communicate findings, and support timely corrective action.
• Ensure employees and contractors use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow established refinery safety expectations.
• Promptly report and elevate significant safety concerns, procedural issues, or unsafe conditions to the Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager.
• Lead by example by demonstrating personal accountability for safety, quality, housekeeping, and environmental compliance.

• Serve as a technical lead on assigned maintenance projects by evaluating the scope of work, breaking complex work into manageable tasks, identifying required resources, and coordinating activities as appropriate.
• Remain a hands-on member of the Maintenance team while providing technical direction, coaching, mentoring, and field support to other employees.
• Work alongside maintenance personnel to demonstrate proper techniques, support safe execution, and provide hands-on training.
• Demonstrate the safe and proper use of common maintenance hand tools, power tools, torque equipment, alignment tools, precision measuring instruments, and other equipment necessary to perform or verify maintenance work.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting support for rotating equipment, pumps, compressors, piping systems, valves, heat exchangers, fin fans, and structural components.
• Verify proper rigging practices, load handling, lifting methods, and safe equipment placement.
