Job Purpose
This position plays a vital role in promoting and embodying the mission, vision, and values of YUGM. This role is responsible for maintaining cleanliness of all areas of YUGM Thrift Stores with efficiency, in a timely manner, and supporting the mission, vision, and values of YUGM. Assist in all aspects of YUGM Thrift Store maintenance to ensure timely and efficient handling of projects and tasks.
Assist with Thrift facilities tickets.

- Assist YUGM Maintenance department in review, prioritization, and completion of Thrift maintenance tickets.
- Complete direct work assignments with accuracy and efficiency.
- Maintain a tidy, clean, and safe workspace/environment, following all necessary safety measures and established procedures.
- Continuously review the condition and state of YUGM thrift stores for cleanliness, safety, and appropriate janitorial supply levels; this includes both interior and exterior locations within and around the thrift stores.
- Work as a self‑starter and perform all required tasks as needed or requested by manager.
- Operate machinery such as forklifts and floor polishers as needed.
- Work with the leadership team to develop and maintain a janitorial schedule to ensure that the stores stay clean and safe.
- Train staff in proper cleaning procedures and on any equipment needed to complete regular janitorial tasks.
- Assist store management with assessing overall store cleanliness and work on creating solutions.
- Attend, as requested or required, all YUGM trainings and meetings scheduled by the management team to keep current on any policy changes, new procedures, and other essential information.
- Other duties as assigned in support of YUGM’s mission and values.
- Experience in cleaning and general maintenance tasks.
- Experience with chemical safety and ability to read and adhere to safety guidelines (SDS sheets).
- Must have fundamental computer and computer software skills to input job details, search online for materials/supplies and research appropriate task guidelines.
- Two plus years of related experience in janitorial, maintenance, and/or security fields.
- Functional organizational, customer service, and interpersonal skills with a high level of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality when needed.
- High school diploma or GED, Washington State Driver’s License (current), and safe driving record.
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
