We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Night Security & Building Janitorial Maintenance Technician to ensure the safety, cleanliness, and operational readiness of a large (300,000 sq. ft.) medical facility during overnight hours. This dual‑role position combines security monitoring with janitorial and light maintenance responsibilities to support a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities Security Duties- Monitor building access points and control entry/exit during night hours
- Conduct routine patrols of interior and exterior areas to ensure safety and identify potential hazards
- Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and incidents; follow established protocols
- Maintain incident logs and prepare detailed reports of unusual activity or security concerns
- Perform routine cleaning of common areas, restrooms, offices, and patient‑adjacent spaces following medical sanitation standards
- Sanitize high‑touch surfaces using approved disinfectants
- Collect and dispose of trash, recyclables, and regulated waste according to policy
- Restock supplies such as paper products, soap, and hand sanitizer
- Perform light maintenance tasks (e.g., replacing bulbs, minor repairs, reporting equipment issues)
- Maintain floors through sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and machine operation such as floor sanding or polishing
- Identify and report maintenance or safety hazards promptly
- Move furniture and equipment from floors and rooms to identified areas in order to clean out areas for remodel
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Prior experience in security, janitorial services, or facility maintenance preferred
- Ability to work independently and remain alert during overnight shifts
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe handling procedures
- Good communication skills and ability to handle emergencies calmly
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift (up to 100 lbs. regularly), and perform repetitive tasks
- Familiarity with security systems (CCTV, alarms, access control)
- Basic maintenance or handyman skills
- Large, multi‑floor (300,000 sq. ft.) medical facility with various departments
- Quiet overnight environment with occasional urgent situations requiring quick response
- On‑site presence required, including frequent walkthroughs of mechanical rooms, kitchens, building exteriors, and security control areas
- Must be available for 10- or 12‑hour shifts
- Physical requirements include climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, moving heavy and awkward furniture, and handling moderately heavy equipment
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in a large facility
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as needed
$18.00 – $21.00 per hour, based on experience, certifications, and local market conditions
