Position: Parts Coordinator $24-30 Food Manufacturing

Job Description

Summary: Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating maintenance activities within the company. Primary goal is to ensure all facilities and equipment are well-maintained to support efficient operations.

Essential Job Functions Planning
  • Manage MaintainX software
  • Implement maintenance schedules for equipment and facilities
  • Work with external vendors and contractors to procure services, equipment, and supplies required for maintenance activities.
  • Review the complete area backlog weekly with the Maintenance supervisors to update priorities
  • Ensure clear communication across the organization as it relates to maintenance activities
  • Develop and hit an annual and project budgets
  • Ensure checklists for equipment, facilities and systems (daily, weekly, monthly, annually).
  • Determine where adding resources would have payback, vs contractors.
Coordination
  • Coordinate with maintenance staff, contractors, and other relevant parties to ensure timely maintenance activities and manufacturing reliability
  • Conduct daily Maintenance Coordination meetings and ensure the agenda is followed
  • Purge the backlog of unneeded or completed work and develop a work schedule for the following week
  • System shutdown and isolation;
    System preparation and work area clean-up
  • Create common touchpoints with contractors so they know what work is upcoming
Record Keeping
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities including work orders, inventory of spare parts, and equipment.
  • Document basic procedures for core systems (Boilers, Hot Water, Air, Ammonia, etc) & service cadences
  • Determine correct touchpoints with business (huddles, walk throughs, weekly)
  • Determine streamlined portfolio of suppliers for parts
  • Responsible for all contractors on site, including sign ins, GMP’s, COI’s, etc
  • Ensure Contractors follow all billing guidelines
  • Sign off on work done
Safety Compliance
  • Work permitting (hot work, confined space entry, line breaking, etc.).
  • Comply with OSHA Safety and all company, USDA, FDA regulations for food plants. This requires the understanding of HAACP and SSOP plans and the ability to comply with these regulations.
Continuous Improvement
  • Suggest and implement process improvements to increase machinery efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Modernize the operations of maintenance
Inventory Management
  • Responsible for proactive inventory control and management
  • Monitor spare parts inventory and collaborate with procurement to ensure timely availability of required components.

Job Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 3 to 5 year of experience in a fast paced production environment – food experience is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems.
  • Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft word, excel, and outlook.
  • Familiarity with maintenance tools and equipment.
  • Problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
  • Must be physically fit and able to work on feet most of the day. Capable of lifting 75 pounds repetitively.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to safety protocols.
  • Good communication skills to interact with other team members and management.
  • Ability to independently examine information and/or situations, evaluates potential impact, options and makes recommendations.
