Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Industrial Maintenance
Wilson Trailer Company is hiring a full-time day shift Plant Maintenance Supervisor in Yankton, SD. The shift runs from 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Applicants should have a mechanical aptitude, good attendance, a willingness to learn, and a team‑oriented attitude in a busy work environment.
Position SummaryMaintenance Supervisors oversee and direct maintenance mechanics in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing plant manufacturing equipment, including electrical, precision mechanical, and fluid power systems on metalworking equipment such as shears, press brakes, CNC machine tools, lasers, and conventional machine tools. The role is an integral part of the plant production team and reports to the Plant Manager.
Essential Functions- Responsible for equipment, building and grounds maintenance.
- Maintain and improve the preventative maintenance program.
- Schedule maintenance operations to limit downtime and improve efficiency.
- Build jigs and fixtures in house as determined.
- Apply Lean principles and participate in Lean activities.
- Document inspections of company equipment as required.
- Work with outside vendors for parts and repairs to plant equipment.
- Control the energy management system.
- Install, diagnose, repair, and maintain mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment & systems.
- Have welding, pipe fitting, soldering, rigging application skills and use of mechanical tools, hand tools, and power tools.
- Experience or knowledge in programmable logic controllers (PLC).
- Comply with company and OSHA safety and health rules to provide a safe working environment.
- Support the company safety and health program.
- Perform other duties as assigned or needed.

- Read and interpret blueprints & diagrams.

Age: Eighteen years of age minimum.
Education: High school diploma or GED required; an AA or bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance is a plus.
Preferred Experience: Four plus years of manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with some PLC experience and HVAC vacuum furnace experience is preferred.

Competent with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Certifications: N/A.
Communication: Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate clearly and concisely using the English language.
Other Requirements: Able to wear hardhat, eye and ear protection, and safety toe boots.
Physical DemandsStand, walk, sit, kneel, and crouch for extended periods; lift and carry 10–50 lbs, occasionally more; climb ladders; and perform repetitive motions. Must meet all safety requirements for job performance.
