Job Overview
Collins Aerospace York, NE site is a manufacturer of precision components for commercial and military customers. This position is a 2nd‑shift operation in a clean, climate‑controlled facility focused on safety and quality.
Shift and CompensationFlexible shift schedule, open to discussion. External candidates will receive a $2,000 sign‑on bonus.
Responsibilities- Operate manual lathes, grinders, and mills to support production needs for fixturing, tooling, and parts.
- Assist maintenance by building and/or modifying parts needed for repairs.
- Grind or modify carbide tooling used on production orders.
- Perform welding and acetylene torch work for repairs on fixturing and maintenance parts.
- Preform rework on production parts.
- Obtain inspection certification through on‑the‑job training and testing.
- High School diploma or GED (or equivalent).
- Two years of relevant experience in the absence of a diploma or GED.
- Enroll and complete the Tool and Die Apprenticeship program with Southeast Community College.
- Experience with measurement equipment (gauges, calipers, etc.).
- Experience with basic hand tools.
- Basic computer skills, including email, internet, and job‑specific applications.
- Basic math skills, including addition and subtraction of decimals.
- Reading, interpreting, and following blueprints.
