As a seasonal Park Maintenance Worker with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, you will help keep Codorus State Park running smoothly and looking its best. DESCRIPTIONOF WORK
- Facility Repair: Make repairs to buildings and park structures using tools from various building trades.
- Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain vehicles, mowers, and other equipment used throughout the park.
- Grounds Care: Mow grass, clear brush, plant vegetation, and prepare areas for new turf.
- Visitor Support: Assist park visitors and provide helpful information in a friendly manner.
- Site Maintenance: Clean picnic areas, restrooms, and other park buildings and complete minor routine repairs.
- Material Handling: Load, move, or transport materials using dump trucks or pickup trucks.
- This is a seasonal, full‑time position with no healthcare benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2026 until November 2026 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay and will automatically be returned to employment approximately March 2027.
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with a 30‑minute lunch.
- Work shifts and days will vary. The employee will work 37.5 hours per week across 5 days, which will include weekends and holidays.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- You must meet the PA residency requirement.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- A conditional offer of employment will require submission of criminal history reports.
- Qualified veterans are given preference per Pennsylvania law for many state and local government jobs.
