About the RoleThe Housekeeping Aide performs routine and specialized cleaning tasks in compliance with established company standards and customer requirements. Work is performed in secure facilities and may include cross‑training in transportation and other support functions under the contract.
What You’ll Be Doing- Operate commercial cleaning equipment such as floor machines, vacuums, and wet mops.
- Clean and maintain floors, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, stripping, waxing, and buffing as required.
- Vacuum carpets, sanitize surfaces, and perform odor control tasks.
- Collect and transport trash from designated areas to appropriate disposal locations.
- Collect soiled linens and assist with emergency spill cleanups; may include vacuum‑sealing linens.
- Maintain and clean assigned equipment; promptly report any maintenance or repair needs.
- Identify and report facility damage, malfunctioning fixtures, or equipment issues.
- Perform unscheduled cleaning tasks or special assignments as directed.
- Cross‑train and provide assistance in other operational areas as needed.
- One (1) year of custodial or housekeeping experience preferred.
- Practical knowledge of worksite safety practices, occupational hazards, and standard safety procedures.
- Ability to obtain an interim Secret Clearance prior to start.
- Possess a valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.
- All candidates must successfully complete pre‑employment screening including a comprehensive background check, motor vehicle record review, and a 5‑panel drug test.
- Fast‑paced commercial kitchen environment with exposure to heat, noise, sharp tools, and cleaning chemicals; requires strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical activities such as pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, standing, and reaching for extended periods.
- Must be available to work on‑call, alternate, and extended shifts as needed to support mission requirements, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Employees may be required to remain on‑site for extended periods during scheduled exercises or real‑world events (e.g., 24‑hour lockdowns) to meet contractual obligations.
