Automotive Mechanic - South Mountain Restoration Center

South Mountain Restoration Center with the Department of Human Services (DHS) is seeking a dedicated Automotive Mechanic to support the reliable operation of our vehicles and equipment. This position plays an important role in keeping vehicles and power equipment in reliable working condition across the facility. Your work supports daily operations and ensures safety precautions are followed to meet staff and resident needs. As an Automotive Mechanic, you will perform the following duties:

• Major Repairs: Perform repairs on cars, trucks, and equipment ranging from routine fixes to involved mechanical jobs
• State Inspections: Inspect vehicles to meet all state requirements
• System Overhauls: Repair engines, transmissions, brakes, clutches, and related automotive systems
• Record Keeping: Maintain detailed service records for each vehicle
• Equipment Support: Repair emergency generators, air compressors, and other facility equipment
• Fuel Dispensing: Dispense gasoline, diesel fuel, and oil for state owned equipment

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

• Four years of experience in the automotive mechanic trade; or completion of an approved apprenticeship; or any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

• You must be in possession of a current driver’s license which is not under suspension.
• You must be in possession of a valid Class 1 Inspection Mechanic certificate or equivalent that allows inspection for Class 1 vehicles.

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
