Autumn House East is a personal care facility located in East York, PA. We pride ourselves in the care, compassion, dignity, and safety of our residents and employees. We are experiencing rapid growth and looking to expand our team.

We are seeking a Full Time Maintenance Director. The fulfilment and satisfaction that comes with helping others surpasses the challenges of this position. If you’re a compassionate, and positive person who loves working with the elderly, then this is a job for you! Previous experience in personal care for the elderly is a plus but we are willing to train the right candidate!

Purpose:

Responsible for performing minor repairs and maintenance on equipment of the facility as directed; assists with outside duties such as snow removal and landscaping, as needed. Oversees maintenance and housekeeping departments for assigned location(s).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Facility Maintenance
  • Maintain the building and grounds in good repair and free from hazards related to electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), and other building systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance on facility equipment and systems.
  • Complete all required preventative maintenance schedules and maintain accurate monthly documentation.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and coordinate repairs for facility systems to minimize downtime.
  • Perform painting, patching, drywall repairs, minor carpentry, and general maintenance as needed.
  • Prepare and restore resident rooms following move-outs, including painting, patching, carpet cleaning, repairs, and other refurbishment tasks.
  • Order maintenance supplies and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
Safety and Regulatory Compliance
  • Conduct routine testing of the facility fire alarm system and maintain required documentation.
  • Monitor the safety and operation of electrical equipment throughout the facility.
  • Inspect and safety-tag electrical appliances brought into the facility by residents.
  • Inspect and replace interior and exterior light bulbs as needed.
  • Monitor emergency kits, ensuring batteries and emergency supplies are current and functional.
  • Ensure compliance with Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (PA DHS), life safety codes, OSHA standards, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations related to facility maintenance and emergency preparedness.
  • Identify and promptly correct safety hazards throughout the facility.
HVAC and Equipment Maintenance
  • Maintain heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in proper working condition.
  • Clean HVAC units, filters, vents, and fans according to established schedules.
  • Monitor and maintain washers, dryers, kitchen equipment, ice machines, and other facility equipment for safe operation.
  • Maintain floors and carpets by performing or coordinating carpet shampooing, floor stripping, waxing, and other restorative cleaning as needed.
  • Ensure the facility remains clean, safe, and well maintained.
Grounds Maintenance
  • Maintain the exterior of the facility, ensuring grounds are clean, safe, and free of debris.
  • Perform seasonal duties including snow and ice removal and regular gutter cleaning.
  • Monitor walkways, entrances, and parking areas to reduce hazards.
Vehicle Maintenance
  • Maintain facility vehicles in safe operating condition.
  • Ensure vehicles have adequate fuel, first aid supplies, current inspections, and scheduled maintenance.
  • Assist with transporting residents to appointments or community outings as assigned.
Administrative Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, inspection records, preventative maintenance schedules, and regulatory documentation.
  • Participate in facility inspections and surveys.
  • Communicate maintenance needs and project updates to the Administrator and/or Regional Maintenance Director.
