1st Shift Maintenance Technician

Waste Connections is hiring a 1st Shift Maintenance Technician for our Penn Waste facility in Manchester, PA. In this on-site role, you'll perform preventive and corrective maintenance on conveyors, balers, compactors, and facility systems to keep operations running safely and efficiently. Responsibilities include troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues; performing routine inspections; documenting work in a CMMS; and supporting a strong safety culture.

You'll work closely with operations teams, follow Lockout/Tagout and OSHA standards, and help improve reliability in a fast-paced waste and recycling environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on conveyors, balers, compactors, and facility equipment
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues to minimize downtime
• Conduct routine inspections and safety checks on production and facility systems
• Document work orders, parts used, and maintenance activities in CMMS or logs
• Follow and enforce all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout and OSHA standards
• Collaborate with operations staff to prioritize repairs and schedule maintenance with minimal disruption
• Assist with equipment installations, adjustments, and reliability improvements
• Maintain tools, parts, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition
