Night Custodian
The Night Custodian is responsible for the overall cleanliness of the District's buildings, equipment and furnishings. Ensures that cleaning supplies are stocked, equipment is functional and the building is operational and ready for the next shift. Reports to the Building Operations Supervisor. Essential Functions include cleaning the assigned facilities and/or grounds, disinfecting required surfaces and fixtures, maintaining supplies and equipment, monitoring students and staff in and around work areas, performing summer maintenance/cleaning, participating in training, performing minor maintenance on custodial equipment, clearing snow and salts walkways, securing the building, wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and performing any other tasks requested.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications include the ability to perform each essential job duty and responsibility satisfactorily. Skills required include operating equipment and materials used in industrial maintenance, adhering to safety practices, and preparing and maintaining accurate records. Knowledge required includes basic math, reading a variety of manuals, writing documents, and understanding complex instructions. Ability required includes scheduling activities, gathering and collating data, working with others, problem solving, and adapting to changing work priorities.
Responsibilities include working under direct supervision using standardized routines, leading, guiding, and coordinating others, and utilizing District resources. The work environment includes significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 75 pounds.
The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions, and occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration.

Skills and Abilities
include maintaining confidentiality regarding students, promoting a harassment free environment, having the ability to learn and utilize machinery and equipment, and performing duties in full compliance with all District and Board of Education policies. Experience is preferred. Education includes a High School diploma or equivalent. Required Testing Certificates Licenses include a Current and Valid Illinois Driver's License. Employment physical/TB Test, Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background are required.
FLSA Status is Non Exempt per Board policy. Benefit Schedule A Salary Range 25-26 SY: $18.22-$19.42 per hour.
