Job Title
Cleaning Staff
DutiesThe Cleaning Staff is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of lodging guest rooms, corridors, stairways, facilities, and other assigned areas. Key duties include:
Cleaning lodging guest rooms, corridors, stairways, facilities, and other assigned areas.
Sweeping, dry mopping, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing floors.
Using brooms, mops, lightweight vacuum cleaners, and floor scrubbers and buffers.
Dusting, waxing, and polishing furniture.
Cleaning and sanitizing guest room appliances, cooking utensils, and dishes.
Emptying wastebaskets.
Polishing door knobs/handles and other metal fixtures.
Washing walls, windows, and blinds that can be reached unassisted or using stepping stools.
Changing bed linen and making beds.
Collecting soiled linen and placing it at a pickup point.
Receiving clean linen and delivering it where directed.
Updating room status, occupancy, and checkouts using the telephone system.
Cleaning, disinfecting, and deodorizing lavatories, urinals, and toilet bowls.
Cleaning mirrors, sinks, and water fountains.
Dusting ledges, woodwork, and furniture.
Replacing room deodorizers.
Restocking toilet tissue, hand towels, soap, and other complimentary sundry items.
Noting the condition of facilities and reporting to the supervisor broken windows, water leaks, clogged drains, and other conditions requiring maintenance.
Keeping a stock of cleaning materials and equipment needed to do the work.
Notifying the supervisor when more materials are needed or when equipment needs repair or replacement.
Performing other related duties as assigned.
