Ink Jet Maintenance Technician

Shift: Monday-Friday 12pm-8pm Department: Maintenance Location: Ypsilanti Posting Date: June 11, 2026 Closing Date: June 22, 2026

Overview

The Ink Jet Maintenance Technician is the primary technical resource for digital imaging equipment, responsible for performing hands‑on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair to ensure optimal equipment performance and reliability. The role supports preventive maintenance programs and continuous improvement initiatives, working under Maintenance Leadership and in coordination with Pressroom Leadership. The technician partners closely with the Imager Lead Operator and serves as a key support resource, including assistance with training efforts.

Responsibilities
  • Perform hands‑on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of ink jet equipment on the production floor and in maintenance areas.
  • Support and execute preventive maintenance (PM) tasks to maintain equipment performance and reliability.
  • Coordinate with the Imager Lead Operator to resolve equipment‑related issues impacting production.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance and Pressroom teams to support spare parts and consumables management.
  • Share technical knowledge and best practices with maintenance technicians and operators.
  • Support consistency in maintenance practices across all shifts.
Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years working on Kodak S10 ink jet technology, including maintenance and operations.
  • Minimum 2 years working with non‑Kodak ink jet technology, with an emphasis on emerging technologies such as Fuji Samba.
  • Experience tearing down and rebuilding S10 fluid stations, refurbishing JM’s, and overall understanding of the base technology.
  • Willingness to provide training and direction to ink jet operators and maintenance personnel.
