Maintenance Technician

We’re looking for a self‑motivated Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance Department team for a Quad Shift within our Ypsilanti Plant at 775 James L Hart Parkway. This position is responsible for the maintenance of machinery, equipment, and the facility, including providing preventative maintenance, repairs, diagnostic and troubleshooting services on a variety of production equipment and building systems while reporting to the Maintenance Manager.

• Effectively provide mechanical maintenance support to the day-to-day operations.
• Monitor applicable systems and machines for acceptable performance.
• Adhere to all established policies and procedures with respect to operations, health & safety, and security.
• Complete and document preventive maintenance and repairs as needed, as well as routine maintenance tasks as assigned.
• Parts Inventory Tracking – monitor and requisition materials, supplies and spare parts as necessary to sustain equipment operation.
• Maintain and upkeep maintenance records/logs (i.e.: PMs, down time hours, etc.)
• Equipment and Machinery Change Overs – change operating characteristics of equipment.
• Maintain apprenticeship standards per the Maintenance Manager.

• Grade 12 diploma – Electrical / Mechanical Diploma
• Driver’s License, Forklift License, Aerial Platform / Fall Arrest, WHMIS
• Meets the attendance criteria as noted in the APP (INTERNAL)

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Be self‑motivated and handle multiple priorities and complete tasks/projects in accordance with stated deadlines without direct supervision, work independently or as part of the team.
• Work independently or as part of the team.
• Handle stress in a fast‑paced working environment.
• Basic tool set for repairs.
• Basic computer knowledge – email, Word/Excel, etc.
