Description
Safety-sensitive classification as defined by the United States Department of Transportation drug and alcohol testing regulations and/or the Oklahoma Standards for Workplace Drug and Alcohol Testing Act. As a safety-sensitive classification, you will be subject to drug and alcohol testing, including random testing. Marijuana is one of the substances included in the drug panel screening. Possession of a medical marijuana certification will not excuse you from the testing process, or the consequences of testing positive for marijuana.
GeneralDescription of Position
Performs a variety of skilled and unskilled tasks on City vehicles and equipment and maintain a GREAT working relationship with other departments and co-workers daily.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Works under the direction of the Superintendent.
- Evaluate and repair city vehicles and small engine-powered equipment, as assigned. To provide safe, reliable and productive vehicles and equipment to user departments in a cost-effective and timely manner.
- Consults with departments and/or individual to evaluate their automotive or equipment repair or maintenance needs.
- Performs major repair, overhaul, and maintenance jobs on automotive equipment.
- Assist in ordering and ensure that the garage is properly stocked and organized.
- Maintains a variety of records and prepares reports on such areas as inventory, automotive repairs, fuel inspections, etc.
- Maintains oils and tire changes on city vehicles.
- Cleaning work area and tools. Maintaining a professional garage at all times.
- May be required to supervise staff in the absence of the Superintendent.
- Insure that the department operates in accordance with established safety procedures and policies and is in compliance with all PEOSH/OSHA safety rules and regulations.
- This position may require hours outside your normal work schedule at any time and on call after hours.
- Perform any other required duties as assigned.

Candidate must have the capability to use and to learn to use all equipment in a standard Fleet maintenance garage.
Working Conditions- Primarily indoors;
- Subject to exposure to the outside environment wherein there are disagreeable working conditions, some of the time;
- Subject to frequent to high to low-level to loud inside/outside noise;
- Subject to working irregular work days if needed;
- Moving mechanical parts;
- Heights between 10’ to 40’ high;
- Exhaust and possible chemical exposure.
- Walking, bending, stooping, crawling, being on your hands and knees;
- Finger dexterity enough to operate equipment such as a smartphone, personal keyboard;
- Near vision enough to read and review smartphone screen and computer generated work orders;
- Speech and hearing enough to communicate clearly and distinctly in person and by telephone;
- Primarily indoor garage environment; occasionally working in an office setting;
- Flexible enough to use hands and arms to grab, hold, reach, etc.;
- Strength to lift and/or move up to 100 lbs; frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs;
- Driving assigned vehicle.

Birthday Check 40 hours pay for the week and a day off for your birthday during the pay period.
CDL License Incentive $250.00 - $500.00 - Paid in September of each year.
College Degree Incentive Associates Degree - $800.00 Annually
Bachelors Degree - $1,400.00 Annually
Masters Degree - $2,000.00 Annually
Certification Pay* - $800.00 Annually
City Manager Approval-must require CEU's to maintain.
