Overview

Responsible for operating the Food & Nutrition department, including the safe preparation, cooking, serving, and delivery of food to patients, guests, and coworkers.

Essential Duties

Follow all food and environmental safety precautions per local and state guidelines.

Safely and effectively use all equipment utilized in various job duties.

Follow proper cleaning and sanitizing procedures to ensure a safe environment for food production and service.

Follow established procedures and standardized recipes for the preparation, cooking, assembling, and serving of food items to patients and retail customers.

Use safe and efficient methods for receiving, storing, and rotating food supplies.

Work in various locations within the department, including retail areas, dish room, patient tray line, tray delivery, call center, kitchen prep, and production areas.

Participate in mandatory training programs, in‑services, meetings, CBLs, etc.

Treat patients, visitors, and coworkers with the utmost respect and dignity according to the Genesis Mission and Values.

Maintain privacy and confidentiality at all times, including adherence to HIPAA laws.

Qualifications

Ability to communicate effectively verbally or in writing.

Good written and verbal skills.

Good organizational skills.

Ability to learn food safety and sanitation practices.
