Dallas International School:
Based in the North Dallas area, just 10 miles from the city center, the Dallas International School provides a 6-week Summer Enrichment Camp for kids and teens ages 3-19. Set in a 6-week period in Summer 2013, courses and activities include immersion programs in the multitude of languages spoken on our campus (including ESL, French & Spanish), art and design courses, science programs, sports camps, and more. During these amazing 6 weeks, your children will be able to explore the world without leaving Dallas.

6 Weeks of Summer Enrichment Courses for Kids & Teens Ages 3-19:
Each year, the DIS Language Institute offers a Summer School Enrichment Program open to all ages 3 and up. Children and parents alike can enjoy this 6-week adventure. Every week, a choice of activities is proposed, allowing the campers to compose their own mix. Thus, language classes may be combined with art workshops or science and technology labs. Courses include:

6-week English as a Second Language - ESL Immersion (Ages 5-19)
A 6-week intensive ESL program combining work on all 4 skills (listening comprehension, speaking, reading comprehension and writing) with fun activities such as Game Design, Chess, Robotics, Movie Making, Art, Tennis and Ceramics.

Language Workshops (Ages 3-10)
Arabic, Chinese, French, Spanish, ESL
In these groups, shaped according to age and language ability, the children engage in a variety of fun activities using the target language as a means of communication. They learn vocabulary and sentence structure as well as traditional games and songs.

Arts and crafts and physical activities such as yoga or body motion are included in the program to provide our campers with a balance of intellectual stimulation and physical activities.

Summer Teen Language Workshops:
Arabic, Chinese, French, Spanish, ESL / Age groups: 11-13/ 14-16 /17-19
The language workshops for teens are taught by native speakers using interactive methods. While the main focus is on conversation, all four skills (listening comprehension, speaking, writing, and reading comprehension) are covered. Upon completion of a 3-week session, students receive a certicate.

Intensive Language Workshops for Adults:
English, French, Spanish, Chinese & Arabic
The Intensive Language Workshops for adults are held simultaneously with the Summer Enrichment Camp for children and the Summer Teen Language Workshops. This is a wonderful opportunity for parents to bond with their children as they share in the experience of learning a new language. The program is six weeks long and the minimum requirement for registration is three weeks.

- Chess Time (Ages 5 and up)
- Sports Camp (Ages 5 and up - Activities will include: Soccer, Kick Ball, T-ball and Dodge Ball)
- Art Time (Ages 6-10)
- Photoshop Design (Ages 7-10; 11-14; 16-19)
- Clay Time (Ages 6-10; 11-13; 14-16)
- Writers’ Den (Ages 8-10; 11-13; 14-16)
- Le Petit Théâtre (Ages: 7-10; 11-13 - designed for students who already speak French at an intermediate or advanced level)
- Art Time for Teens (Ages 11-14; 15-17)

Science & Technology Classes:
- Exploring Robotics: Simple Machines (Ages 8-10) 
- Fun with Stop Motion Animation (Ages 8-10) 
- Introduction to Game Design (Ages 8-10) 
- Robotic Engineering (Ages 11-13)
- Adventures in Movie Making (Ages 11-13) 
- Adventures in RPG Game Design (Ages 11-13) 

After-Camp Activities:
The following activities are scheduled after 3:30. They may be either group activities that last one hour or one-on-one lessons scheduled in 30 minute-slots.
