The Vibe Recording Institute, Ft. Myers:
Located in the heart of Southwest Florida, just 10 minutes from Ft. Myers and Cape Coral, The Vibe Recording Institute is a music production school that provides a 6-month Modern Recording Arts Diploma Program. Modern Recording Arts is a program designed to teach the art of recording audio, from the ground up, with real world applications in mind. In six months, students will learn how to record, edit, and mix audio like the pros, using industry standard equipment and software.
Modern Recording Arts Diploma Program:
- Total Duration: 144 hours / 6 months
No prior audio knowledge is required for this program. The instructors start with the basics of audio, and gradually work the class into the complex and artistic art of finishing a project, via mixing and mastering.
Class sizes are limited to 5 students, which provide an intimate and effective learning environment. Students will receive a Diploma upon completion of the 6th month program. Modules include:
Recording Arts Fundamentals:
18 Theory Hours, 18 Lab Hours
Students learn the basic physics of sound and hearing as well as become introduced to the general types of equipment found in modern recording studios.
Advanced Audio Engineering Techniques:
18 Theory Hours, 18 Lab Hours
Students learn to utilize the advanced functions and calibration of various pieces of equipment, including microphones, signal processors, and effects processors.
Applications of Protools:
18 Theory Hours, 18 Lab Hours
Students are taught to use the Protools system by first learning the fundamental functions, followed by advanced features, exotic applications, and shortcut keys.
The Art of Mixing and Editing:
18 Theory Hours, 18 Lab Hours
Students learn how to use a variety of hardware and software to contour audio projects into finished products.
Graduation Requirements:
To graduate, each student must maintain an 80% average in each program based on 8 written tests, 4 hands on tests, and 4 instructor performance evaluations.
