Free two day trial!!! If you are interested let us know via the form on our Contact Page and we'll get you up and running. (No strings attached!)

First you learn how to read and write music - essential for writing any sort of music – pop, rock, jazz or orchestral. We learn how to write for guitar and drums, study chords and harmony, and then how to write these chords for a band or orchestra - brass, strings and woodwinds.

These instruments only play one note at a time and need every one of them written. Finally, there is a very compressed course on counterpoint. We must know this to keep movement in the music but don't want a rhythm section. It's a great knowledge to have.

Subjects include:
- The Language of Music
- Writing for Drums
- Chords and Harmony
- Writing for Guitar
- Voicings / Arranging 1
- Two Part Harmony and Counterpoint

Just at this point I discovered your Course - Geronimo!!!!!!  perfect timing and perfect content!!!!!!   I spent four hours on it last night immediately and it is completely brilliant. The guitar and drum sections are a complete gift.  Thank you so much.  But it is all explained so clearly and simply.
The best thing is the boost finding your course has given me and I am moving from the fear into the enjoyment which I have been searching for.

Review by Barry Walmsley - Past President and current Vice-President of the Music Teachers Association of NSW, Australia.

Online delivery of theory courses seems to be the way of the future. The Contemporary Music Course- is one such product I would highly recommend. This is a comprehensive online course for beginners through to advanced level students.

From the opening introduction, the presenter makes the whole process sound incredibly easy. The beauty of such a delivery is that students can view the instruction video time and time again, replaying concepts that need greater consolidation. Own pace tuition is a real bonus for students.

It is multi-level and sequential, easy to navigate and visually appealing. As one moves through the course, the concepts naturally become more challenging, until very advanced concepts of jazz harmony are reached.
