In 1948, the preschool, formerly known as the Nursery School, started to serve the children of church members. It soon expanded into a professional preschool for the community and over the years has gained a reputation as one of the finest in the city. Under the guidance of qualified teachers and a full-time director, the school provides an enrichment program to enhance your child's growth and development physically, socially, emotionally, spiritually, and academically.

The preschool is an integral part of the First United Methodist Church of Santa Monica. The school is an expression of the church’s concern for children and families, and operates within the context of Christian faith and values. About Us:
At First United Methodist Church Preschool, classes are structured by age so that all the equipment and activities are developmentally appropriate. Teacher / child ratios are kept low to insure a quality preschool education. At mid-morning and after nap time in the afternoon, a variety of snacks are served and at noon a nutritious, hot lunch is prepared by our cook; all of which are included in the cost of the tuition. The preschool is an 11 month program - September through July - and is closed the month of August and on all public school holidays. The preschool is open from 7 am - 5:30 pm Monday through Friday.
