Chilcotin Holidays Esl Program, Kamloops:
At Chilcotin Holidays learn English while experiencing the spirit of Canada’s Wild West. All the trips and adventures incorporate cultural and historical elements of the authentic western wilderness lifestyle.

This is your opportunity to turn learning English into the ultimate adventure. Live an ESL ranch adventure with 15 hours of classroom study per week. Group in field Spend your afternoons participating in activities designed to help you practice your English skills and develop conversational fluency. At the same time, you’ll learn how to saddle a horse and then have the confidence to explain the procedure to your partner. Go on a scavenger hunt through the ranch property following increasingly, difficult instructions. Tell your fellow students about the mule deer you saw playing in the back pasture.

This ESL course is designed to improve communication skills that most often take second seat to grammar lessons. Instead of being the mainstay of the program, grammar lessons give you a basis for the intensive conversational aspect of the program. Beginner and high-beginner level students with a basic grasp of English will get the most benefit from the course, gaining both better grammar and communication skills. Students at an intermediate level will gain more fluency and the vocabulary necessary to work and play in the outdoors in an English-speaking environment

We firmly believe in a hands-on participation approach to learning while still providing the classroom time necessary for correction and full understanding. Students get an opportunity to meet guests, staff, and other students from all over the world. Practice using your English in one of the most beautiful and natural settings in the world.

Ranch Based Accommodation:
Any guest staying at our guest ranch can expect to experience real western charm and warm hospitality. Resembling a large western family homestead, our guest ranch has nine rooms with queen, twin, and a combination of Queen and bunk beds. Horse riding in mountains It’s spacious and tastefully decorated in a western frontier theme, complete with a two-story fireplace, sunroom, large central dining room, and a large outdoor deck facing the rugged Coast Mountains.

Camp Based Accommodation:
Our many camps offer something for everyone! Whether you’re interested in getting just a “taste” of the wilderness camping experience and would like to have some of the camp luxuries, such as a warm-water shower or a cabin to sleep in, or whether you want to have a true backcountry, camping, “roughing it” experience, we have it all and everything in-between.

You have the opportunity to go all out on the weekends with optional camping trips. In the summer, you can visit a nearby lake and spend the day swimming, or go skiing in the winter. After completing the ESL program, you can use your freshly-honed English skills to enjoy one of our many holidays such as a Wilderness Guest Ranch Stay, a Pack Horse Trip or a Wilderness Alpine Hike.
