Accredited Day Programs for Students with Learning Differences (Grades 1-12)
Elementary - 6th Grade Curriculum:
The Elementary Division strives to enhance basic academic skills while exploring areas of individual strengths. We individualize our curriculum through the use of Multiple Intelligences and varying learning and teaching styles. We stress respect and responsibility while encouraging our students to develop a sense of their own uniqueness in a caring and risk safe community. Our goal is to help our students reach their academic and social potentials while working at an independent level. We want all of our students to realize that school and learning are fun!

Middle School Curriculum:
The Denver Academy Middle School takes a holistic approach in working with each student. Not only are academic skills developed, but social and emotional growth is also a focus. As a student’s academic skills advance, so does his/her confidence and self-image. Likewise, as one’s confidence builds, so does his/her motivation to advance academically. Our program development is guided by the belief that none of these factors develop in isolation.
- Social Studies
At Denver Academy, we believe regular participation in quality physical education programs will:
- Prepare students with skills for future leisure pursuits through exposures to various individual, team and alternative activities.
- Formulate activity patterns that can be extended into adulthood.
- “Reduce the risk for specific health problems including: coronary heart disease, hypertension, colon cancer, and depression, as well as lower all-cause death rates.”(CDC 1990 Youth Risk Behavior Survey)
- Increase cardiovascular efficiency.
- Improve one's physical literacy.
Arts and Technology Electives:
Denver Academy's multi-faceted arts and technology programs are designed to develop awareness and appreciation of the creative aspects of life as well as the academics. A strong combination of diverse activities helps to build integrity, character, and self-esteem in our students. In the Arts, students are guided through creative processes which help develop passion, purpose, and a work ethic that will benefit their lives on and off campus.
Denver Academy's commitment in teaching to students’ multiple intelligences allow us to offer many outlets in the Creative Arts. Disciplines such as Drama, Computer Arts, Film and Video, Music, and Visual Arts provide students an outlet for integrated learning, self-expression, and self-discovery.
